Top Seven Revitalizing and Natural Anti-Aging Tips

Top Seven Revitalizing and Natural Anti-Aging Tips

1. Eat according to your Nutritional Type.
Dr. Mercola’s nutrition plan is based on natural whole foods and is your first step toward increasing your chances of living a longer, healthier life. At the heart of his program is the drastic reduction or elimination of grains and sugars from your diet, which will help you control your insulin and leptin levels. Take the
FREE Nutritional Typing test to learn more about this program.

2. Optimize your vitamin D levels.Safe sun exposure is a powerful and inexpensive intervention that can have profound benefits on your health. But before taking a vitamin D supplement, take the 25(OH)D or 25-hydroxyvitamin D test. For more information on vitamin D supplementation and appropriate dosage, visit vitamind.mercola.com.

3. Exercise regularly and correctlyNumerous studies show that regular, moderate-to-vigorous exercise can help prevent or delay the onset of heart disease, hypertension, obesity, and osteoporosis. A lifetime of regular exercise is ideal, and it’s never too late to start. A type of exercise known as interval training promotes human growth hormone production, which provides anti-aging benefits.

4. Practice effective stress management.
Stress directly impacts inflammation, which contributes to a number of chronic diseases that kill people prematurely every day. Thus developing effective stress-coping mechanisms is a major longevity-promoting factor. Exercise, meditation, physical activity, and prayer can help you maintain emotional and mental equilibrium. Dr. Mercola personally uses energy psychology tools such as the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) to address deeper and oftentimes hidden emotional problems.

5.. Consume the right type of fats.Having the right ratio of omega-3 to omega-6 fats is a strong longevity factor. You can get the right balance by increasing your intake of animal-based omega-3 fats such as krill oil while decreasing your intake of damaged omega-6 fats like trans fats from vegetable oils. Coconut oil is another excellent anti-aging food — it can help reduce your risk of heart disease and lower your cholesterol levels. Use coconut oil instead of butter, margarine, or shortening. You can also apply it to your skin as an anti-aging massage oil or moisturizer.

6. Load up on antioxidants.Antioxidant-rich foods include artichokes, blackberries, cherries, cranberries, green tea, raspberries, strawberries, and turmeric. Resveratrol is a powerful antioxidant with anti-aging benefits found in blueberries, dark chocolate, and grapes.

7. Avoid chemicals, pollutants, and toxins.

Toss out those toxic air fresheners, bug sprays, household cleaners, insecticides, lawn pesticides, and personal hygiene products and replace them with non-toxic alternatives. Avoid pharmaceutical drugs. Over-the-counter and prescription drugs kill thousands of people prematurely every year as an expected side effect.

Dr. Mercola strongly believes that incorporating these healthy lifestyle changes will help you take control of your health and serve as your best shot at living a longer life.

Cannabis cures cancers, gets demonized

The widespread demomization of marijuana particularly in the U.S. is attributed to Big Pharma seeking to protect their commercial profit margins.  Why cure cancer, when you can give people often harmful drugs that make money, and does not cure cancers.

(Merocola.com) --  In order to really comprehend the movement behind medical marijuana, you must first understand that this herb truly does show outstanding promise as a medicinal plant. The studies conducted so far show significant potential for the use of cannabis in the prevention and treatment of a wide range of health conditions, including cancer.
For instance, in 2009 a study in the journal Cancer Prevention Research found that marijuana smokers have a lower risk of head and neck cancers than non-marijuana smokers
Harvard researchers also found that THC in marijuana cuts tumor growth in lung cancer while significantly reducing its ability to spread. There is also a wealth of research linking marijuana with pain relief and improved sleep. In one recent study, just three puffs of marijuana a day for five days helped those with chronic nerve pain to relieve pain and sleep better. Watch the video below.

STAY AWAY FROM CHEMOTHERAPY AND RADIATION

STAY AWAY FROM CHEMOTHERAPY AND RADIATION
By Dr. James Howenstine, MD.

For many years it has been known to well informed individuals within the medical community that chemotherapy and radiation were quite toxic and essentially worthless in the management of malignancies. This information is carefully covered up by our controlled media so that these two methods of therapy are regarded by lay persons as the proven therapy for malignancies. Like lemmings going over a cliff the general public lines up for these therapies and nearly all treated persons proceed to die.

To the person who inquires how can an essentially worthless therapy continue to be used as the answer is simple. It is all about money. Chemotherapy drugs bring in more than a trillion dollars annually to the pharmaceutical industry. Oncologists frequently make (actually the number can now be over $50,000 per injection) $1000 from every injection administered to a patient. There are 40 National Cancer Institute Centers scattered across the USA. Each of these employs thousands of employees. Curing cancer would be devastating for the economy and must not be allowed to occur. Research programs whose alleged purpose is to cure cancer see their funds steered into harmless areas where no cancer cures will ever result. Less than 1% of research funds are spent finding methods to prevent the spread of cancer, which is the cause of fatal cancer cachexia which kills 90% of cancer victims.

Preventing unfavorable chemotherapy results from being seen by the public in TV, radio, and newspaper reporting is combined with malicious quackery charges and actual death threats to practitioners who have legitimate cancer cures. I am aware of at least a dozen cancer cures since 1900 that have been ignored or suppressed. Several persons with bonafide cancer cures have been so vilified they died alcoholics or committed suicide. Prominent physician Dr. Milbrook Johnson was fatally poisoned the night before he was scheduled to speak on a national radio network in the 1940s about the ability of Dr. Royal Rife’s electronic equipment to cure cancer and infections.

Both chemotherapy and radiation have such toxic effects on the human body they must be stopped before they kill the patient. In the early days of chemotherapy drugs it was noted that skeptical patients who refused to take chemotherapy usually lived longer than patients treated with chemotherapy. (in the 1940’s research was done that showed the average life expectancy was 4 times longer for those that took no treatment)

Radiation therapy directed toward a bone containing cancer might initially seem innocuous but actually has effects throughout the body. Circulation of blood through areas of ionizing radiation being delivered to bone is able to transport this radiated blood to distant sites where it can injure bone marrow production of killer lymphocytes, red blood cells, macrophages and platelets. Loss of appetite and nausea can also be seen. Conventional radiation to the abdomen and other areas may be followed by permanent injury to the small intestine, liver, pancreas, colon, (diarrhea, pain) and arteriosclerosis of arteries in any field of radiation.
A suspected cancer patient had x-ray films showing numerous lucent identical sized masses overlying brain and spinal cord tissue. The films were misread as metastasis from a prior malignant melanoma instead of echinoccocal cysts spread from the family dogs. Massive radiation of brain and spinal cord tissue caused complete loss of appetite with no food intake and death in 8 days in a previously well 26 year old woman.

What are results of chemotherapy drugs? Associate Professor Graeme Morgan of Australia was the lead researcher on an article titled “The contribution of cytotoxic chemotherapy to 5 year survival in adult malignancies.” This research showed that chemotherapy improved 5 year survival by less than 3% in adults with cancer. In 1987 Dr. Lana Levi of the University of California wrote “most cancer patients in this country die of chemotherapy. It does not eliminate breast, colon, or lung cancer. This fact has been known for over a decade. Women with breast cancer are likely to die faster with chemotherapy than without it.”

Dr. Ralph Moss Ph.D. relates that “Conventional Cancer therapy is so toxic and dehumanizing that I fear it more than I fear death from cancer. Yet most alternative therapies regardless of potential or proven benefit, are outlawed, which forces patients to submit to the failures that we know don’t work because there is no other choice. Dr. Moss was employed as a science writer for Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. Chemotherapy drugs are cellular poisons so they are quite toxic. They are also quite expensive. In his book The Cancer Industry he documents how the close links between the pharmaceutical industry and the cancer establishment enables an inadequate therapy like chemotherapy to become promoted and established as standard care.”

In a 1995 interview Dr. Moss related that chemotherapy was effective in only 2 to 4 % of all malignancies (Hodgkin ’s disease, Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia, childhood leukemia, testicular cancer and Choriocarcinoma.)

The package inserts for chemotherapy drugs admit that taking a course of chemotherapy drugs can increase your risk of subsequently developing a new cancer by about 10%.. The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) warns that the powerful drugs used in chemotherapy can cause cancer in employees who handle them (nurses, pharmacists, cleaning personnel). If continued too long these drugs are fatal. The damage to white blood cells, killer lymphocyte and red blood cell production makes the patient vulnerable to overwhelming (bacterial and fungal) infections which are the cause of death in many patients on chemotherapy and radiation. It never made sense to me why administering toxic substances that cause major side effects could possibly heal a serious illness like a malignancy.

Dr. William Campbell Douglass II, MD “To understand the utter hypocrisy of chemotherapy, consider the following: The McGill Cancer Center in Canada, one of the largest and most prestigious cancer treatment centers in the world, did a study of oncologists to determine how they would respond to a diagnosis of cancer. On the confidential questionnaire, 58 out of 64 doctors said that all chemotherapy programs were unacceptable to them and their family.
In 33 years of conventional medical practice I referred all patients with malignancies to oncologists. The only survivor was a Chinese man with a low grade lung cancer. He responded every five years or so to a few doses of radiation.

In my opinion one of the most important verses in the Bible is Proverbs 14:12 There is way that seems right unto man but its end is the way of death. Drug company owners and executives, politicians, world leaders and media executives have unbelievable wealth and power in this world. However, they face a tortured eternity following death. This seems to be a very unwise tradeoff.

Anyone reading this article has my permission to copy or publish this information. Hopefully, some individuals will be made aware that there are safe effective alternatives to chemotherapy and radiation in the treatment of malignancies.

Naturally Get Ready for Cold and Flu Season

Give Your Immune System a Natural Super-Boost - Vitamin D, Colds the Flu and You

Would you rather choose the natural solution to Immune Heath, or do you prefer the government flu shot?
Vitamin D, the Flu and You
Research has shown that lack of vitamin D is associated with weaker production of an antimicrobial peptide called hCAP-18, a protein that works with immune-system cells to kill pathogens. Thinking now is that if you're exposed to a virus when you have sufficient vitamin D, those cells will be better equipped to fight off that organism so you will be far less apt to be infected.
According to Dr. Ginde an attending emergency physician at the University of Colorado Hospital and Assistant Professor at the University of Colorado Denver School of Medicine, "in people with vitamin D deficiency, it's possible that those cells don't work as well, so you're more likely to get a cold or flu infection or something, more often and more severe."

Why is the flu and cold season winter time? That is true for both hemispheres. For those in the North December, January, and February is flu and cold season. For those in the South June, July, and August is when people get flu and cold infections. This is because, as sunlight hours lessen during the winter and people become vitamin D deficient, their immunity systems weaken, and they are more susceptible to infections of all kinds.

Vitamin D is an important way to arm the immune system against disorders like the common cold, report investigators from the University of Colorado Denver (UC Denver) School of Medicine, Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and Children's Hospital Boston.

In the largest and most nationally representative study of the association between vitamin D and respiratory infections, people with the lowest blood vitamin D levels reported having significantly more recent colds or cases of the flu. The risks were even higher for those with chronic respiratory disorders, such as asthma and emphysema. The report appears in the February 23 Archives of Internal Medicine.

"The findings of our study support an important role for vitamin D in prevention of common respiratory infections, such as colds and the flu," says Adit Ginde, MD, MPH, UC Denver Division of Emergency Medicine and lead author of the study. "Individuals with common lung diseases, such as asthma or emphysema, may be particularly susceptible to respiratory infections from vitamin D deficiency."

While vitamin C has been used for the prevention of colds and other respiratory disorders for decades, little scientific evidence supports its effectiveness. In contrast, in recent years evidence has accumulated that vitamin D – most commonly associated with the development and maintenance of strong bones – plays a key role in the immune system. Evidence has implicated the wintertime deficiency of vitamin D, which the body produces in response to sunlight, in the seasonal increase in colds and flu; and studies have suggested an association between low blood levels of vitamin D and a higher risk of respiratory infections.

The current study analyzed data from the Third National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES III), conducted by the National Center for Health Statistics. Participants were interviewed in their homes regarding their health and nutrition, and most participants also received a physical examination that included collection of blood and other samples for laboratory analysis. The research team analyzed blood levels of 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25OHD) – the best measure of vitamin D status – from almost 19,000 adult and adolescent NHANES III participants, selected to be representative of the overall U.S. population.

Study participants with the lowest vitamin D blood levels – less than 10 mg per milliliter of blood – were about 40 percent more likely to report having a recent respiratory infection than were those with vitamin D levels of 30 or higher. The association was present in all seasons and even stronger among participants with a history of asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including emphysema. Asthma patients with the lowest vitamin D levels were five times more likely to have had a recent respiratory infection; while among COPD patients, respiratory infections were twice as common among those with vitamin D deficiency.

"A respiratory infection in someone with otherwise healthy lungs usually causes a few days of relatively mild symptoms," explains Carlos Camargo, MD, DrPH, MGH Department of Emergency Medicine and senior author of the study. "But respiratory infections in individuals with an underlying lung disease can cause serious attacks of asthma or COPD that may require urgent office visits, emergency department visits or hospitalizations. So the impact of preventing infections in these patients could be very large."

"We are planning clinical trials to test the effectiveness of vitamin D to boost immunity and fight respiratory infection, with a focus on individuals with asthma and COPD, as well as children and older adults – groups that are at higher risk for more severe illness," Ginde says. "Many Americans also need more vitamin D for its bone and general health benefits. Clinicians and laypeople should stay tuned as this exciting area of research continues to expand."

BREAKING RESEARCH SHOWS VITAMIN D LINKED TO HDL CHOLESTEROL

Shaklee Corporation Research Suggests an Important Role of Vitamin D for Supporting Cardiovascular Health

Research supported by Shaklee Corporation, the number one natural nutrition company in the U.S., shows that a lower blood vitamin D level is associated with metabolic syndrome and other risk factors for cardiovascular disease.

The study results were presented at the National Lipid Association Annual Scientific Sessions in Miami, Florida and suggest an important role of vitamin D nutrition for maintaining cardiovascular health.

“I am so proud to be associated with a company whose heritage has always been about improving people’s health and well-being. It’s very exciting that Shaklee has helped to bring this important research to the world, say Independent Shaklee Distributors, Sam and Bunny Sewell “The findings may have significant public health implications related to new understanding about benefits related to vitamin D supplementation,” adds Bunny.

In this study, intake of vitamin D from dietary supplements was strongly linked with vitamin D levels in the blood. The greater the intake of vitamin D from dietary supplements, the higher the amount of vitamin D found in the blood. More importantly, as vitamin D intakes increased, HDL cholesterol (or “good cholesterol”) levels increased as well. Future research is needed to determine if vitamin D from dietary supplements can lower risk levels for metabolic syndrome and cardiovascular disease.

“Our next study, which is already underway, is intended to confirm causality by showing that vitamin D supplementation improves cardiovascular risk factors,” says Dr. Jamie McManus M.D., Chairman of Medical Affairs, Health Sciences and Education, Shaklee Corporation.

Kevin C. Maki, PhD, the study’s Principal Investigator and the Chief Science Officer of Provident Clinical Research, Glen Ellyn, IL, says, “Results from population studies suggest that a low serum vitamin D concentration is an independent risk factor for cardiovascular mortality, but this is the first study to evaluate the relationship between vitamin D status and cardiovascular risk factors in a group that includes a large number of vitamin D supplement users.” He continues, “Additional research is warranted to assess whether increasing vitamin D intake will improve the metabolic cardiovascular risk factor profile.”

ARE YOU NEXT TO GET “CINCHED?”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We have been eagerly awaiting publication of this important research we heard being presented at the Shaklee Global Conference.  Here it is, now made available to the public.
A Holiday Message from Dr. Steve Chaney, our favorite college professor.
While "Healthy Thanksgiving" doesn't quite have the appeal of the more familiar "Happy Thanksgiving" greeting, I used it here to make the point that Thanksgiving dinner (and many other holiday meals) doesn't have to be an unhealthy affair.
After all, there is a lot to like about the ingredients in Thanksgiving dinner. Turkey can be a healthy, low- fat meat, if prepared correctly. Sweet potatoes, yams, winter squash and pumpkin are all loaded with vitamin A and other important nutrients. And cranberries are a nutrition powerhouse.
Here are some tips to make your Thanksgiving meal one that contributes to your health:
1) Skip the basting. Choose a plain bird and cook in a bag to seal in the moisture. Remove the skin before serving.
2) Refrigerate the turkey juices and skim off the hardened fat before making gravy and use a gravy cup that pours from the bottom to minimize fat.
3) Use ingredients like whole wheat bread, vegetables, fruits (cranberries, raisins, dates or apples), nuts and your favorite spices for the stuffing and bake it in the oven rather than in the turkey.
4) Serve your sweet potatoes or yams baked rather than candied and let your guests add butter to taste.
5) Use skim milk or buttermilk rather than whole milk and skip the butter for your mashed potatoes.
6) Give your meal gourmet appeal by cooking your green vegetables with garlic, nuts and herbs rather than creamy or fat-laden sauces.
7) don't serve the meal on your largest plates. By using smaller plates you ensure smaller portion size and even that second helping isn't quite so damaging.
8) Use the Cinch meal replacement products for one or more meals the day before and/or after
Thanksgiving so that your total caloric intake over the three day period is not excessive.
By now you have the idea. There are lots of little things that you can do to make your Thanksgiving dinner one that your waist and your heart will thank you for.
Bon Appetit and have a Happy, Healthy Thanksgiving!
Mensa Health Sciences Seminar
Mensa membership is not required; this seminar is open to the public.
On Friday November 25, at 7PM, Sam and Bunny Sewell are hosting:
DANGEROUS PRESCRIPTION – A PBS Frontline Special
Have you noticed that shortly after a drug company advertizing blitz about the latest “wonder drug,” there is another advertizing blitz from lawyers wanting you to join a lawsuit against the manufacturers of the same “wonder drug.”  “Dangerous Prescription” is a look inside the FDA, its recent record, and the debate over whether our nation’s drug safety system is broken.
As medications assume ever-larger roles in health care, the importance of FDA approval mounts. But what do average Americans know about the FDA process? What happens when a drug product harms consumers, and what role do drug companies play in approving and monitoring drugs?
DANGEROUS PRESCRIPTION offers a FRONTLINE investigation into the FDA and drug safety process, revealing the questionable effectiveness of the FDA in identifying or testing the efficacy of drugs they “approve” that soon are shown to not work, or cause significant harm.
This is an extremely important issue to millions of Americans!
Please share this with anyone who takes, or cares about, people who take prescription medications.
Always good discussions afterward.  Feel free to bring friends!
The follow up seminar, offering healthy alternatives to drugs, will be held the following Friday, Dec 2nd at 7PM.
"The Keys to an Unstoppable Drive"
"The Keys to an Unstoppable Drive"
Most of you know that in addition to being Shaklee Business Leaders we also are psychotherapists and function as Directors of www.BestSelfUSA.com  the first nationwide counseling clinic available in the privacy of your own home.
One of the services we provide at Best Self USA is “Private Executive Coaching”
In the 1970s Rev. Sam Sewell served as a professor of Marketing and Management Science for Sterling College, a Christian liberal arts college where he created the Marketing and Management Science Curriculum to be delivered to veterans who were now in business and still had G.I. education benefits they hadn’t used. Rev. Sam guided the curriculum through the accreditation process. Rev. Sam has maintained his interest in executive functions and their interface with the behavioral sciences.
Dr. Bunny Sewell has owned her own private businesses as well as working for major corporations and governmental agencies. Her management and administrative skills emphasize the practical tools of supervising groups of people and task focused accomplishments.
Several executives who were private clients at Best Self USA saw the connection between human relations training done to facilitate harmony in families and the problems executives face in their business organizations. “My family seems to function like my business.” “I have started using what I learned about parenting and spousal communication skills with my employees.” “Would you teach these things to my supervisors?” Out of this need, Best Self USA created a curriculum to deliver to management personnel. Thus Drs. Sam and Bunny Sewell have been delivering private Executive Coaching to CEOs and business leaders for a number of years.
Below is an article from a graduate of Best Self USA Private Executive Coaching Program that we thought would be useful for Shaklee Business Leaders.
"The Keys to an Unstoppable Drive"
Sometime back in the mid 80’s I was invited to attend a sales seminar hosted by Don Beveridge. I was fortunate in that I got the chance to sit in on the seminar and I found it to be a memorable experience. He was motivated, and his motivational sales points were strong. The ideas he shared with the audience, with a little bit of license on my part, went something like this: You wake up at 5am. From 5-7am you plan your day, every hour. Be in the office by 7am and by 9am get out, prospect and be in the community. At 5pm get back to the office to do your follow-up with all of your prospective clients. From 7-9pm you do your administrative work. After that, get into bed so you’re ready for 5am again. I heard at least two old saws proclaim, “This guy is nuts.” I thought so too, but in a good way.
There were about 200 sales people in attendance, many of whom were inspired by his ideas. And my guess is that many of the salesmen (there weren’t many women selling in those days) took action after that day because they wanted his results. So they probably started getting up at 5am, and arrived at the office by 7am, and they started making the cold calls they normally had not been making. But pretty soon, within a few days or weeks, most would probably stop and resume their old ways. Their activity levels went back to normal. Why? Because their productivity rose above their self-image and their self-image squashed their productivity back down within their comfort level; a level consistent with their self-image. They took an afternoon off here and there, maybe they watched Oprah, maybe Jerry Springer; hung out in a bar commiserating with other business cohorts, it’s hard to say why. It could be that their actions were becoming inconsistent with their self-image.
Today many will talk about balance in life. Those are thoughts best left to the idealists, and to those who believe the system is rigged, and that we ought to spread the wealth. I believe there is a place for balance all right; mine is in balancing the checkbook and my family life. Making a difference in your life and the lives of those who depend on you is, in its own sense, the important balance. The checkbook and family unit satisfaction are only the scorecards. If your checkbook and family life is where you think it should be, you’re doing fine and don’t need to go further, unless you think you can, in which case you haven’t set you goals high enough.
You will always perform at a level equal to your self-image. Our self-image is the portrait we have of our self; it is the image we have created about our self, and is commonly based on past experiences and environmental influences. So if a new desire for improvement is introduced and it conflicts with our current self-image, it is doomed to fail. I guess I was fortunate in that I had a very successful family and couldn’t envision anything other than success.
Our actions, behaviors, and yes our discipline, are all heavily influenced by our self-image. Even if you force yourself via will power to do things beyond your self-image, you won’t be able to sustain it for very long. You will go back to the old behaviors consistent with your own self-belief, because you believe it, and you act from this belief. What caused the Ali’s, Jordan’s, and the Annika Sorenstams of the world to work as hard as they did? What causes the top 1% in selling to consistently sustain their mind-boggling activity levels? Answer for all: their self-image. If you watched Tiger’s meltdown in the last couple of years and its subsequent effect on his golf course performance, you can see what a blow to self-esteem can do, even if it was of his own making.
Major changes occur in income, production and satisfaction for the average salesperson (in fact all people) when they understand the importance of evaluating, changing and elevating their self-image. Managers and salespeople comfortable with small and average client sizes, but nervous and fearful with the high-end clients, who learn to grow their self-portrait, become more confident and succeed in the large client arena. Let’s not get into a discussion about which type of client you can make the most money on, because you can make plenty off big clients if you set it up right; and if you set it up right, it won’t be you doing the clerical work.
Speaking of clerical work; executives who are most comfortable working clerical tasks instead of leading a group of managers and clerical workers are destined to confine themselves to a mid-level manager’s wage. Not that there is anything wrong with mid-level management or clerical work. If that is what you want to be good at, then be the best. There are many hourly pay rates in business; the highest belong to those who can lead other people in a desperate charge to the top. Job satisfaction is relevant to the position desired and the execution of satisfying your self-image. Life satisfaction is relevant to that self-image, and the life to which that image confines us.
As we raise our self-image we also raise our expectations, behaviors and the discipline we bring to our activities. Learning to change behavior permanently is one of the most important skills a person can develop in their life. Without this skill, any self-improvement intention will result in failure and frustration. All we need to do is to change the portrait by investing time and energy, with guidance, through learning.
Our self-image is held in our subconscious mind. This is the inside part of our brain where all of our habits and beliefs are stored. Many estimates in the field of psychology suggest that we are only utilizing a small part of our brain - generally 5% to 10%. Which means that nearly 90% is untapped and waiting to serve us. Our subconscious mind is this under-utilized resource. It’s the part of the brain that allows our body to do things naturally and consistently with an ease and proficiency that our conscious mind could never match.
Great things that seem impossible become possible when we learn to communicate to and from our subconscious mind. Here’s how: when thoughts and feelings match, and are focused on over and over again, they become accepted by the subconscious mind. When we add pictures or visualization, which match these thought/feeling combinations, we are actually changing our self-image with a new self-belief. We communicate to our self image in pictures, hence the term self-image. When such ‘visualized thought with feeling’ intention is accepted by the subconscious mind it becomes a belief that executes itself automatically.
Follow these steps to a new level of discipline by changing your self-image:
Step one: DECIDE exactly what you want. This is critical. Are you after a habit change or a new goal? Whatever it is, be crystal clear on the outcome you desire.
Step two: DETERMINE the activities that will lead to this outcome. This is an easy step; just determine what you would need to be doing in order for this result to come naturally. It is simple cause and effect. For this step, make sure you choose activities that you could see yourself doing. There are often many paths to an outcome. Avoid the activities that don’t fit your personality, and make sure the ones you do choose will facilitate your goal.
Step three: INVEST 20 minutes a day in focused quiet time, Ten minutes in the morning and 10 minutes in the evening. Here is the place you need to invest the time and energy. In this time, find a quiet place in which you will not be interrupted and close your eyes. With eyes closed, put your attention on the goal. With thoughts on the goal, see yourself doing these activities with ease, day in and day out.
Picture yourself becoming proficient at these activities. Bring more and more clarity into the picture every time you do this. Visualize the time of day and the reaction from those around you; the more detailed the better! And finally, feel the feelings you would experience, as you would engage in these activities; also feel the feelings, with intensity, that you would undergo upon accomplishing this goal. See yourself actually doing the deal!
Successful, productive people produce record results because of their belief in themselves. They grew their self-image by this ‘visualized thought with feeling’ process. Many probably didn’t even realize they were doing it. Whether they intended to or not doesn’t really matter, because this is how it works, and it can work for anyone.
Step four: APPLY this process and remember the importance of vivid images and concentrated feeling. Do this and you’ll never again have to be stuck in undesirable patterns from your past. With new information can come new results.
We’re only here for a visit. If you want to make a difference, you already have. “There is nothing as tantalizingly close as a dream.
Substance in red wine shows promise in first human study
A compound in red wine suspected of offering a host of health benefits has for the first time shown promise in a study testing the compound in people, researchers reported Tuesday.A compound in red wine produced a variety of fundamental beneficial effects on subjects’ metabolism in a study, researchers reported Tuesday. (Deb Lindsey - For The Washington Post)
The small but intensive study involving 11 obese but healthy men found that taking a relatively low dose of resveratrol daily for a month produced a variety of fundamental beneficial effects on their metabolism.
“We are very excited,” said Patrick Schrauwen of Maastricht University in The Netherlands, whose research was posted online by the journal Cell Metabolism. “We found a lot of effects that all point in the same direction of better metabolic health.”
Many scientists have been excited about resveratrol since studies in yeast, fruit flies and laboratory mice indicated the substance could mimic the benefits of consuming a very low-calorie diet, which has been shown to extend longevity in many species. Some people severely restrict their caloric intake in the hopes of living longer. But most people find it difficult if not impossible to adopt such a stringent lifestyle.
Resveratrol also appeared to protect mice from obesity and diabetes, boost the animals’ physical endurance, reduce their chances of suffering the ill effects of obesity and extend their lives.
Such findings prompted some scientists to speculate that the presence of trace amounts of resveratrol in red wine might help explain the “French paradox,” which is that the French consume a relatively rich diet, but live as long as anyone else.
Some people have even started taking resveratrol, which is sold over-the-counter in health and grocery stores. But the benefits for people have never been shown and the potential risk of high doses for long periods remains unknown and some scientists have questioned the validity of some of the early research.
In the new study, Schrauwen gave 150 milligrams or a placebo to the healthy obese men for 30 days and then switched those on placebo to resveratrol and vice versa for another month. Each time they conducted a series of detailed tests to examine the impact on their metabolism.
Resveratrol appeared to produce all the same effects in the human subjects as it had in animals, such as lowering the metabolic rate, cutting the accumulation of fat in the liver, reducing blood sugar, blood pressure, triglycerides and inflammation and boosting the efficiency of muscles. There were no apparent side effects.
“I think it’s very promising,” said Rafael de Cabo of the National Institute on Aging, who has been studying resveratrol in monkeys.”It’s very significant.”
The researchers noted that the dose was much lower than that used in animal studies and the amount many people take on their own. But someone would have to drink at least about two gallons of red wine a day to get the equivalent amount of resveratrol.
The findings were praised by other researchers who have been studying resveratrol and other compounds that increase proteins known as sirtuins thought to have the beneficial effects.
“This study comes at a time when obesity and diabetes are reaching epidemic proportions,” said David A. Sinclair of Harvard Medical School. “Sirtuins offer the promise that we can find ways to prevent the effects of obesity and sedentary lifestyles.”
“This paper is important,” said Leonard P. Guarante, who studies aging at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. “It suggests that sirtuin-based drugs is a promising new strategy to treat human diseases.”
Schrauwen and others cautioned, however, that much more research is needed to follow up on the study to determine if resveratrol’s effects translate into health benefits, especially for those who are not obese, and whether it is safe over the long term.
“Although it is a bit early, we may soon find ourselves looking back on the discovery and development of resveratrol ... and other related small molecules that can delay age-related disorders and improve healthy life span as a truly historic point in aging research,” said Stephen Helfand of Brown University.
“The finding of molecules with such dramatic positive effects on age-related disorders and life span is a major conceptual leap forward for the field of aging research, perhaps equivalent to the effect of the discovery of antibiotics on treating infectious diseases,” Helfand said. “It is an extraordinary time to be involved in research on the biology of aging.”
GO BEYOND JUST RESVERATROL FOR EVEN GREATER RESULTS
(see the enclosed cellular energy field … when Vivix is used the mitochondria multiplies greatly)
PLEASANTON, CA -- 08/10/10 -- Can a supplement with resveratrol AND polyphenols boost cellular energy and metabolism? Researchers at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and Shaklee Corporation have partnered to address these questions by studying the impact of a unique blend of resveratrol and muscadine polyphenols found in Shaklee VIVIX Cellular Anti-Aging* dietary supplement, on human muscle cell mitochondria, the intra-cellular power plants that generate cellular energy.
With this research, Dr. Jamie McManus, Chairman of Medical Affairs, Health Sciences and Education at Shaklee, and Dr. Michael Zemel of the University of Tennessee are seeking to determine the impact of this unique polyphenol blend on key biological processes related to cellular energy production and aging.
"One of the key mechanisms of aging is a decline in mitochondrial mass as well as the effectiveness of the mitochondria," said Dr. McManus. "In our research, we are trying to validate the impact of VIVIX polyphenols on mitochondrial biogenesis -- shorthand for how the number and size of mitochondria help create cellular energy and boost metabolism. We are excited to share our research goals with the medical community and create a baseline for future studies on polyphenols and cellular energy metabolism."
VIVIX was developed by Shaklee scientists by combining resveratrol with an extract from the only grape in nature that contains an extra chromosome. This muscadine super grape has polyphenols that complement the many benefits of resveratrol. Shaklee scientists created a unique profile of polyphenols shown in laboratory studies to positively impact multiple mechanisms of cellular aging.
